We all are upset with Shikhar Dhawan after he failed last 2-3 matches, but do you know that he is the best indian test batsman in 2015 ?? If you want to ask questions then we can question Ajinkya rahane who is having average of just 32 in 2015. Many of you were upset when Rohit sharma dropped from team in the first 2 matches, and he is just averaging 30 in this year after playing 10 innings.

From the list it is clear that Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan are the best players for india in 2015. Ajinkya rahane and rohit sharma could not perform as what they have expected to do. And the figures clearly mention that why rohit was dropped in the first 2 matches.


So dont criticize Dhawan for his recent form out rather we have to support him so that he can perform well.

This is so interesting to see that AB Devilliers is having average around 80 in 2015 and Virat Kohli is having the lowest average with 36. This will give you an idea about how the players are doing in 2015. Surprisingly 39 years old Dilshan is performing better than any other Asian players with average of 55.

after analyzing the graph you can see that Dilshan is the oldest among all with a long 16 years of cricketing career. But you will be surprised to know that South african star batsman Hashim Amla is 32 and he could only play 7 years in cricket until now. Most impressing is Virat Kohli's stat, he is only 27 and already has broken many records in his 7 years of cricket career. And a lot to come for him in the coming years. And this is why we expect him to become one of the best in the cricket history. So you can blindly tell that Virat Kohli is the legend of tomorrow.


This is a chart that showing the average runs scored by each players per year. Virat kohli stands on top of the list with almost 1000 runs per year which is a great achievement. He was so consistent in getting runs in every year. We can also see that Gayle and Dilshan was not so consistent in their long career.

These facts are telling us that Virat Kohli is the most probable player to break Sachin's batting records with almost 7000 runs and 23 Centuries from 170 matches.

Strike rate comparison

We know that all these batsmen are explosive batsmen and they can change the game whenever they want. And more importantly they are real hard hitters too. Lets find out the Strike rates of our 6 top run getters of current era of cricket.


You would have thought that Chris Gayle having the highest strike rate in these players, but you are totally wrong and he is the one with least strike rate among these new generation legends. But look at AB Devilliers's Strike rate which is phenomenon having more than 100 as he stands out of his peers with a clear edge. Now lets find out the Sixes scored.

Yes !! your guess is correct. Chris Gayle is having more number of Sixes is his career and he way ahead of his competitors with 238 sixes from his 269 matches. Lets find out percentage of sixes all these batsmen hit in a single match. 


This graph gives you an idea about the hard hitters among them. Clearly as we know Gayle, Dhoni and Devilliers stands with very good percentages. And AB Devilliers used to score atleast one six per match with his 96% six percentage. And also it is surprised to see that Dilshan is having only 18.58% which is very low for a opener.

Average is a very important medium by which you can measure how good a batsman is. It also takes into account whether the batsman remained not out so that he missed out a chance to score more runs.Lets find out the graphical view of average of each players we are interested in.


Except Dilshan and Gayle, all other players are holding very good average that too above 50 which is really great. And Look at AB Devilliers's average of 54.21 which is seriously a great achievement for a batsman who bats at number 4.

Weighted Runs 

We have already discussed about the total runs scored by each player. Now we will see the weighted runs of these players which means what would have been the scores of these players if they would have got a chance to bat until they get out. We will get that runs by multiplying the number of innings with the average of each players.

Weighted runs = Total Innings * Average


Here we are finding the Weighted runs scored by each player by multiplying innings with average. And we used the difference between weighted runs and the actual runs to find out the Not out %. The not out % is a measure of how much the average has been increased with being not out. And we can see that dhoni is having 39% of elevation in his average with not outs. Dhoni's runs per innings is just 37 but his average is 52. And 39 % of his increase in average is because of he has been not out.


You can see that the most weighted runs is for MS Dhoni for his outstanding batting average down the order. If you are considering the Not Out % which is responsible for the increase in average , MS Dhoni is having 39% of elevation in his average with the notouts. But on the other end it is very much surprised to see that Hashim Amla is having only 7.89 % of elevation in his average because of his notouts still he is having average of 52.7 which is shocking. 


After checking all these stats you can clearly say that Hashim Amla who has played only 126 ODI is the best in this category. This also gives you an idea that most important factor in MS Dhoni's average is because he has remained not out in many matches.

We know that average does not consider the matches where the batsman remained not out. But lets find out what will be the score scored by each of these batsman without considering whether he is out or not out.


This is interesting to see that Hashim amla score almost a half century every time when he comes out for batting. That is a great achievement. And also it is surprised to see that MS Dhoni even after batting at number 6 scores almost 38 runs every match. ABD and Virat bats almost in a similar position and ABD is at slight advantage. And it is important to see that Dilshan and Gayle opening the innings all the time still they dont have good runs/innings that means they are not as consistent as others.
