Getting runs in international cricket  is a difficult task, still there are players who scored runs like a champ. We have seen how easily AB Devilliers has scored centuries, We have seen Chris gayle is scoring 215 in world cup and there are many champions in the cricket history who made getting runs is simple tasks. Currently in the cricketing world Tilakkaratne Dishan is holding the record of having highest runs in ODI with more than 10000 runs. Lets see the graph.

Chris Gayle, the most dangerous batsman in the history of cricket landed in 2nd spot with  more than 9000 runs. We will be surprised to see him in the top of the list as he is not the consistent kind of player from West indies but no doubt that every bowler will be feared to bowl against him. Indian Skipper MS Dhoni comes next with close to 9000 runs and nobody would have expect him to reach there when you consider he is majorly batting at 6 or 7th position and it is a great achievement for a player to reach at this milestone. Next comes the new generation explosion batsmen consisting of AB Devilliers,Virat Kohli and Hashim Amla. 

Runs scored per innings

We know that average does not consider the matches where the batsman remained not out. But lets find out what will be the score scored by each of these batsman without considering whether he is out or not out.

This is interesting to see that Hashim amla score almost a half century every time when he comes out for batting. That is a great achievement. And also it is surprised to see that MS Dhoni even after batting at number 6 scores almost 38 runs every match. ABD and Virat bats almost in a similar position and ABD is at slight advantage. And it is important to see that Dilshan and Gayle opening the innings all the time still they dont have good runs/innings that means they are not as consistent as others.
